Bohdanov Tops 1,027 Players in WSOP Freezeout Event #35

Renat Bohdanov has secured his second World Series of Poker bracelet by winning Event #35: $3,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em, defeating a 1,027-entry field to claim $451,600. The Ukrainian pro added this title to an already diverse résumé that includes a WSOP Europe bracelet and a WSOP Circuit ring.

Renat Bohdanov has posted strong results across the buy-in range—from €350 bracelet events in Europe to $25,000 high rollers in Las Vegas. But Event #35: $3,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em may be the most complete showing of his career so far. He finished on top of a 1,027-player field, securing the largest win of his poker journey.

Bohdanov entered the final day as chip leader, then picked up early momentum with key knockouts. He eliminated two-time bracelet winner Boris Kolev in eighth place, followed shortly after by sending Santiago Garza to the rail in seventh with a flopped set over two pair.

Wild Swings at the Final Table

The lead did not stay steady, as Bohdanov lost ground after doubling up Anatoly Nikitin in a blind-vs-blind misstep. Dennys Ramos then surged into contention after flopping a set of fives against Hattori Lopez’s pocket queens, briefly taking control of the table.

Bohdanov rebounded with a double-up holding ace-king and then sent Ryan Wolfson out in fourth after hitting a queen on the turn. He cracked Ramos’ pocket sevens during a key all-in with ace-king again, and after eliminating Tsz Ho Chau in third, entered heads-up play with momentum.

The heads-up match with Ramos was filled with swings. Bohdanov doubled again with ace-ten against ace-nine, then made a key call with second pair to move far ahead. Although Ramos hit a runner-runner straight to survive once, Bohdanov sealed the deal with a straight of his own—rivering a nine while holding queen-eight against Ramos’ two pair on a Q-J-T-7 board.
