Nick Guagenti has become a three-time WSOP bracelet winner after taking down the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship in Las Vegas. The event attracted 127 players and paid the top 20 finishers, including well-known names such as Daniel Negreanu, Huck Seed, and Dylan Weisman, who all cashed before day 3.
Starting the final day well behind chip leader Chino Rheem, Guagenti steadily climbed the leaderboard through several critical pots. Players like Mike Matusow and Dave Rogers were eliminated early, followed by Dan Heimiller and Adam Friedman, both of whom fell short of adding to their bracelet totals.
Mori Eskandani, a Poker Hall of Famer and influential figure in the poker world, exited in fifth place after Rheem made trip eights to overtake Eskandani’s jacks. Paul Volpe busted next in fourth when his trip fours lost to Qiang Xu’s straight. Xu then went out in third after running into a full house during three-handed play.
Guagenti Takes Control After Hours of Heads-Up Play
The final phase of the tournament featured a nearly five-hour duel between Guagenti and Rheem. Rheem started with a sizeable chip lead and stretched it even further after a flush beat Guagenti’s two pair. But Guagenti responded with a flush of his own, followed by a hand where he showed rolled-up threes.
Momentum swung, and Guagenti clawed back to even before pulling ahead. One of the key hands saw Rheem fold an eight-high flush after Guagenti raised on seventh street, flashing a stronger queen-high heart flush.
Shortly after, Rheem found himself all-in with just a pair of sixes. Guagenti ended the hand with kings and sevens, sealing the win. Rheem finished runner-up, earning $196,662. Guagenti walked away with $295,008 and his third WSOP title—his second in just over a year.
His first bracelet came during the 2020 WSOP Online in a $2,000 no-limit hold’em event, followed by a 2024 win in the 9th event of the year, a $1,500 limit hold’em tournament. With this latest score, his career earnings have now passed the $3.3 million mark, the bulk of which comes from WSOP cashes.
