Artur Martirosian Wins Third Bracelet in WSOP $25K Heads Up Event

Artur Martirosian returned to the World Series of Poker $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship with unfinished business—and this time, he completed the mission. One year after falling in the semifinals, Martirosian came back to win the 2025 WSOP Event #5, earning $500,000 and securing his third career bracelet.

Good to know

  • Martirosian now holds two WSOP heads-up titles and one Flip & Go bracelet.
  • He has over $28 million in total live tournament winnings.
  • His win added 300 PokerGO Tour points to his season tally.

Martirosian’s win came after surviving a tough bracket of elite opponents. His path began with Jeremy Ausmus in Round 1, followed by a quick win over Faraz Jaka. Day 2 brought more pressure, with victories over Kevin Rabichow and Chance Kornuth—one of which required a big comeback from an 8.5-to-1 chip deficit.

Kornuth had Martirosian on the edge of elimination, but the Russian pro used a runner-runner straight and a turned nut flush to claw back and win the quarterfinal match. He followed that with a closely contested semifinal against Patrick Leonard, who refused to back down despite Martirosian building multiple leads. Eventually, A♥ Q♠ held up against Leonard’s A♦ J♦ to lock Martirosian into the final.

In the championship match, Aliaksei Boika struck first and built an early lead. Martirosian soon responded with a flopped full house, then hit a set of eights on the river to take control. The last hand came with Martirosian holding A♦ 6♣ against Boika’s K♥ Q♥. The K♦ Q♦ 7♣ flop put Boika ahead, but the 4♦ and 9♦ completed a backdoor flush for Martirosian, ending the match.

Boika, who previously won EPT Malta and made multiple WSOP final tables, earned $300,000 for second place. Patrick Leonard’s deep run in the event earned him 108 PokerGO Tour points and pushed him into the top 10 on the leaderboard.

Martirosian credited his online experience for his victory: “I started my career from Spin and Go tournaments heads-up. So yeah, I have a lot of experience. I feel amazing.”
