Good to know
- Michigan Gaming Control Board issued cease-and-desist orders to 11 illegal online casinos.
- Operators were given 14 days to comply or face legal action.
- Sites reportedly use credit cards, digital wallets, and cryptocurrency for bets.
The casinos include Club Player Casino, 7 Bets Casino, NinBet Casino, Cherry Jackpot Casino, PitBet, SlotsNBets, Bookmaker.eu, Wild Vegas Casino, VIP Slots Casino, Prism Casino, and ABC Islands Casino. Some are offshore operations, while others are based either domestically or in unknown locations, according to the MGCB.
“These sites are operating illegally and without proper oversight, putting Michigan players at risk,” said Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB. He stressed that the agency remains committed to shutting down unauthorized gambling platforms to protect the public from unfair practices, financial loss, and exposure to cybersecurity threats.
The MGCB noted that many of these sites accept wagers through credit cards, digital wallets, and cryptocurrencies. Players have reported issues like withheld winnings, blocked withdrawals, and unfair game rules. Without regulatory supervision, there is no assurance of fair play, and players’ personal data remains vulnerable to theft.
Operators who do not comply within the 14-day window could face additional legal measures, including actions coordinated with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
Williams also issued a clear message to any remaining illegal operators: “Michigan does not tolerate unauthorized gambling activity. We will continue our relentless pursuit of actively identifying and disrupting these operations.”
