Massachusetts Reports $157.2 Million In Gaming Revenue For March

Massachusetts has reported $157.2 million in total gross gaming revenue for March 2025, showing little change compared to the same month last year. While the combined figure slipped slightly—down just 0.1% year-over-year—the data reveals shifting dynamics between casino and sports betting performance.

Casinos in the state brought in $105.1 million during the month, reflecting a 5.4% drop from March 2024. On the other hand, sports wagering picked up the pace with $52.1 million in revenue, rising 12.7% year-over-year. Most of that total—nearly $51.9 million—came from online bets.

Encore Boston Harbor once again led the pack among the state’s casinos, generating over $63 million. Around $40 million of that came from slot machines. MGM Springfield followed with $25.5 million, and Plainridge Park Casino contributed $16.5 million.

Slot play brought in $76.6 million statewide, while table games added another $28.5 million. Altogether, the gaming commission reported that the sports betting handle hit $772.5 million for the month, giving operators a 7.02% hold.

Casino

Retail sports betting accounted for smaller volumes. Encore Boston Harbor led with $5.6 million in bets, followed by Plainridge Park Casino at $3.3 million and MGM Springfield at $1.6 million.

Online operators continued to dominate. DraftKings posted the highest handle, reaching $375.2 million, and collected $28.4 million in gross gaming revenue. FanDuel followed with $208.4 million in bets and $13.8 million in revenue.

BetMGM and Fanatics followed in third and fourth with handles of $72.1 million and $48.3 million. Their respective revenues came in at $4.1 million and $2.1 million. ESPN Bet and Caesars rounded out the list, reporting $1.5 million and $1.7 million in gross gaming revenue.
