Flutter and its subsidiary FanDuel have contributed $250,000 to assist relief efforts for the wildfires currently impacting Southern California. The wildfires have consumed over 17,000 acres in just two days, leaving many residents and communities struggling to recover.
FanDuel CEO Amy Howe emphasized the company’s dedication to its local community, stating, “FanDuel and Flutter have been proud members of the Los Angeles business community for over two decades. We are heartbroken by the devastating loss these wildfires have created in a community we call home. We are committed to ensuring our employees are safe and making sure the community has the resources it needs to support the heroic efforts of our first responders.”
The donation has been directed toward Americares and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Americares focuses on meeting urgent health needs in affected communities, while the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation uses its resources to provide vital equipment and programs that protect lives during emergencies.
Flutter’s connection to Los Angeles runs deep. The company’s former TVG platform, now operating as FanDuel TV, is based in Culver City, California. The area also serves as home to nearly 400 FanDuel employees, some of whom have been directly affected by the wildfires.
