Wynn Resorts’ ambitious project in Ras Al Khaimah is climbing higher every month, and developers say the opening remains firmly on schedule.
Good to know
Marjan CEO Abdulla Al Abdouli shared with the Khaleej Times that progress on the $3.9 billion project is advancing smoothly, with the March 2027 opening date unchanged. He emphasized the resort’s role in shaping both the hospitality sector and real estate opportunities across Ras Al Khaimah.
Set on a 148-acre island stretching into the Arabian Gulf, Wynn Al Marjan is designed as more than just a luxury getaway. Abdouli explained that the scale of the development will bring lasting benefits, including new residential zones and business investments linked to the resort’s arrival.
Hiring has already started. In September, 78 positions were posted, and management expects to bring the total workforce up to 300 by year’s end. The numbers reflect the long-term economic lift expected once the resort fully opens.
The resort will offer 1,542 rooms, an array of entertainment, and more than 22 food and beverage outlets. Plans also include extensive leisure facilities to complement the property’s gaming amenities.
Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, has pointed out that the UAE gaming market could grow into a $5 billion industry. For Wynn, the Ras Al Khaimah location is viewed as a flagship destination that could set a new standard for entertainment in the region.
The development is being built in partnership with Wynn Resorts, Marjan, and RAK Hospitality Holding. Together, they are working to deliver the first integrated gaming resort in the Middle East and North Africa. The collaboration highlights not only the scale of the investment but also the shared confidence in the UAE’s potential as a gaming and tourism hub.
