MGM Grand has launched Live from Vegas, an online casino experience that streams real Las Vegas table games to players around the world. The new platform blends the energy of the casino floor with digital interactivity, giving users a genuine taste of Vegas without leaving home.
Good to Know
According to Vik Shrestha, VP of Online Gaming at MGM Resorts, Live from Vegas connects thousands of players in real time across multiple games. He said:
“The platform allows thousands of users from countries such as the U.K., Brazil, Mexico, and Canada to participate simultaneously in games like blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and a betting version of Family Feud.
The setup includes live presenters who chat with players as games unfold. Behind them, guests can be seen moving across the actual MGM Grand casino floor — giving participants a clear view of Las Vegas nightlife while they play.
MGM has trained a full team of live dealers to support the platform’s nonstop schedule. Each dealer completed an intensive three-to-six-week program focused on performance, game integrity, and player interaction. For privacy reasons, dealers operate under stage names.
Shrestha also noted that every dealer is certified through MGM’s Game Sense program, which emphasizes responsible gaming education and awareness. “We built the platform to be both exciting and responsible,” he said, adding that MGM aims to balance entertainment with safe play principles.
The Live from Vegas launch represents MGM’s continued expansion into online entertainment — a contrast to its competitors taking a more cautious approach. Although current U.S. restrictions prevent the platform from being offered domestically, MGM remains optimistic that the regulatory landscape could shift in the future.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas Sands is heading in the opposite direction. The company has confirmed that it will wind down its Sands Digital Services (SDS) division, a move affecting up to 400 employees worldwide, including 150 positions in Las Vegas. The closure underscores a broader strategic divergence among major casino operators — with some, like MGM, leaning heavily into digital engagement while others refocus on land-based operations.
