Michigan Gaming Control Board Orders Eight Online Casinos to Shut Down

Michigan regulators have taken firm action against a group of unlicensed gambling sites, directing them to stop operating in the state.

Good to know

  • Eight online casinos received cease-and-desist letters from the MGCB.
  • The operators were running without licenses required by Michigan law.
  • Failure to comply could lead to further action from the Attorney General’s office.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board confirmed that the operators violated the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and portions of the state’s penal code. Each has been instructed to “immediately halt” any activities tied to Michigan players.

“These unlawful operators try to present themselves as legitimate entertainment options, but they offer zero player protections, no accountability and a real risk to consumers,” MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said.

He added:

“Our message is simple: If you want to offer gambling in Michigan, follow the law or we will stop you. We will continue to work aggressively to keep illegal gambling out of our state.”

Protecting Players

Officials explained that the crackdown is part of the MGCB’s mission to safeguard players, ensure fair games, and protect financial and personal data from unregulated platforms. Without proper oversight, regulators argue, players face increased risks that don’t exist with licensed operators.

Operators Named

The cease-and-desist letters were sent to:

  1. Bspin
  2. Everygame
  3. Everygame Sports
  4. Kudos
  5. PlayCroco
  6. Slots of Vegas
  7. Spin Dimension
  8. Super Slots

If the platforms ignore the order, the MGCB may escalate the issue with the Michigan Department of Attorney General for further enforcement.
