Christoph Vogelsang has been a fixture in the high-stakes scene for more than a decade, with nearly $43 million in live tournament earnings but only three titles to his name. That changed in Jeju, where the German pro scored his fourth career win and one of his biggest paydays to date.
Good to Know
The $100,000 buy-in main event drew 228 entries, creating a $22.8 million prize pool. Vogelsang outlasted the elite field to take home the title, the trophy, and just over $4 million. It was the third-largest cash of his career, behind his 2017 Super High Roller Bowl win for $6 million and a third-place finish in the 2014 WSOP Big One for One Drop worth $4.5 million.
Afterwards Vogelsang said:
“This win feels special because it’s a main event, it’s the biggest Triton event, and the Triton tour is easily my favorite place to play poker. You really know people so well, both the players and the staff. Triton events are very special for me, so I’m happy to have won this one.”
The Jeju victory also marked his second Triton title, following a $2.6 million triumph in Monte Carlo back in 2023.
The final stages of the tournament featured some of the biggest names in poker. Deep runs came from Phil Ivey, Jason Koon, Bryn Kenney, Nacho Barbero, Richard Yong, Nick Petrangelo, Paul Phua, and many others who cashed but fell short of the last table.
At the final table, Vogelsang navigated several tough spots, including a memorable bluff-catch against Aleksejs Ponakovs that gave him control of the chip lead. From there, he eliminated Xu Liang in fourth place, then sent UK pro Ben Heath to the rail in third.
Heads-up play began with Vogelsang holding a two-to-one lead against Samuel Mullur. The two agreed to a deal that secured just under $4 million each, leaving $150,000 and the trophy in play. Only a few hands later, Vogelsang sealed the victory when his two pair topped Mullur’s smaller two pair on the river.
Mullur, who already had a win earlier in the Jeju series, walked away with $3,509,025 for second place.
Vogelsang’s latest win not only boosts his lifetime earnings but also reaffirms his reputation as one of the game’s most consistent performers on the high roller circuit.
