Pennsylvania’s gaming industry stayed hot through the summer with another strong month of growth. The state pulled in more than half a billion dollars in August, showing how both online and retail gambling continue to drive record interest.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) confirmed that August revenue climbed 14.2% compared with last year, settling at $582.3 million. Only May’s $601.8 million total tops it, leaving August as the second-best month on record in 2025.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course topped all venues with $101.3 million in revenue, up 15.5%. Valley Forge Casino Resort wasn’t far behind, hitting $98.7 million for an impressive 39.3% gain. Other standouts included Parx Casino at $58.2 million and Rivers Casino Philadelphia at $57 million.
Wind Creek Bethlehem managed just over $50 million, rising slightly at 1.4%, while Rivers Casino Pittsburgh slipped by 0.1% to $30.5 million.
Online gaming remained a huge growth driver. Hollywood Casino led the iGaming market with $85.5 million, up 18.5%. Valley Forge reported $67.6 million, surging 47.1%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia added $36.6 million for another 18.5% increase.
Parx Casino held the top spot for retail slots with $33.4 million, up 2.6%. Wind Creek Bethlehem followed with $24.9 million, though it dipped 1.3% from last year. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh and Mohegan Pennsylvania both enjoyed modest gains, posting $22.3 million and $15.9 million, respectively.
For retail table games, Wind Creek Bethlehem led all properties at $23 million, a 2.4% increase. Parx Casino had one of the sharper climbs, rising 16.3% to $18.2 million. However, Live! Casino Philadelphia and Rivers Casino Philadelphia saw declines of 24.4% and 10.8%, pulling in $7.5 million and $6.9 million each.
Pennsylvania bettors put down $515.4 million in wagers during August, a 6.2% increase from last year. Sports betting revenue jumped 63.8% to nearly $49.2 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort was the biggest contributor, generating $18.8 million and growing 40.6%. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows crossed $10 million with $12.3 million, climbing 57.9%.
With NFL season betting already pushing activity higher, the PGCB reminded residents to avoid unauthorized sites. The regulator stressed that Pennsylvania’s 12 licensed operators follow strict rules and provide tools to help customers manage play responsibly.
