In iGaming, scaling fast is exciting, but going legal is what keeps you in the game. Compliance isn’t just paperwork—it’s a serious investment in trust and long-term growth. To explore what that journey really looks like, our friends at Slotegrator Academy sat down with crash game developer Aviatrix, a studio that has taken licensing head-on while expanding into some of the toughest markets worldwide.
Good to Know
For Aviatrix, licensing was never a box-ticking exercise. From the beginning, the team treated it as a core part of building credibility. That approach allowed them to enter several regulated markets quickly, stacking licenses and certifications at a pace few startups manage. But, as the studio admits, the process brought plenty of lessons too.
Some decisions, in hindsight, would be made differently. Aviatrix acknowledged underestimating markets where crash games were already established, and not preparing a “conservative” product version that could pass stricter certification regimes. These oversights created delays and forced costly adjustments later on.
Brazil, with its fluid regulatory framework, stood out as one of the toughest regions to navigate. No clear rulebook existed, making it difficult to plan ahead. On the other side of the Atlantic, North American regulators demanded measures that went far beyond European standards—like fingerprinting and extensive background checks—slowing down entry timelines.
Licensing wasn’t the only challenge. Aviatrix also ran into technical barriers. Integrating tax systems, meeting server location requirements, and dealing with ambiguous compliance standards consumed more resources than they initially expected. These hurdles showed that legal entry is as much about technical infrastructure as it is about paperwork.
To manage the complexity, Aviatrix built a proactive compliance culture. Their product, compliance, and legal teams work closely together, attend industry events, and hold regular internal briefings to stay aligned. That integration, they say, is the only way to keep pace with shifting regulations across multiple continents.
“Stories like Aviatrix’s are incredibly valuable for the industry because they show what true market readiness actually requires,” said Yelyzaveta Kundel, Partner Relationship Manager at Slotegrator. “Licensing is not just a formality but a long-term investment in reputation, stability, and growth. We’re proud to support studios that take this path seriously.”
