Ryan Bambrick Wins $470,437 and Second Bracelet in WSOP Event #11: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship

Ryan Bambrick returned to the World Series of Poker after a year away from the game and walked off with $470,437 and his second WSOP bracelet by winning Event #11: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship. In doing so, he denied Daniel Negreanu a shot at his eighth bracelet, closing out a heads-up battle that drew a packed crowd to the Horseshoe Grand Ballroom and more than 30,000 online viewers.

Good to know

  • Bambrick’s win was his first cash in a $10,000 event.
  • The final day featured poker legends like Viktor Blom and Daniel Negreanu.
  • Negreanu now has 11 runner-up finishes in bracelet events, three of them in Omaha Hi-Lo.

Negreanu came into the final day tied for second in chips with Bambrick, while Viktor Blom held the lead. Eliminations were slow due to deep stacks and long levels, but once the action kicked off, momentum shifted quickly.

Bambrick built his stack steadily, pulling ahead of Blom with a mix of strong hands and timely bets. Blom, who had been chasing his first WSOP win, fell in fourth place after Bambrick made a flush on the river.

Negreanu built his stack by eliminating Hunter McClelland in fifth and Ofir Mor in third, the latter coming after flopping a set and hitting quads on the river. At that point, Negreanu had a shot at history, but Bambrick’s lead remained solid.

Heads-up play began with Bambrick holding a slight advantage. He increased pressure from the start, and even though Negreanu made a brief comeback, he could not regain control.

In the final hand, both players had full houses on a paired board, but Bambrick’s J♣ 9♠ made the nut boat to beat Negreanu’s K♥ J♦, ending the match. Negreanu took home $313,615 and extended his lead on the WSOP all-time money list.

After the win, Bambrick reflected on the final table. “It was obviously pretty cool playing against Negreanu and Isildur at the final table,” he said. “You really can’t ask for better opponents.”

The win caps a remarkable return for Bambrick, who had stepped away from poker and cryptocurrency trading to focus on other priorities. Now, with over $470,000 added to his earnings and a second bracelet in hand, he may be sticking around for more.
