Maryland’s casino sector closed April 2025 with a slight dip in overall gaming revenue, but contributions to the state still topped $70 million. The Maryland Lottery and Gaming agency released the latest numbers, showing a combined total of $162.6 million from the state’s six privately owned casinos.

MGM National Harbor once again took the top spot in Maryland’s gaming revenue rankings, bringing in just over $68.6 million, up 0.8% from the same period in 2024. Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland followed with $58.9 million, though that number reflects a 3.2% drop year-over-year.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore saw a healthy boost in performance, with April revenue increasing 6.2% to $15.6 million. Ocean Downs Casino also saw an uptick, generating $7.5 million, a 2.9% rise from April 2024.
Not all properties posted gains. Hollywood Casino Perryville brought in $7.9 million, slightly down by 0.6%. Rocky Gap Casino Resort reported $4.1 million, marking a 4.1% year-over-year decline.
Video lottery terminals (VLTs) continued to dominate as the main revenue driver, accounting for nearly $115.3 million of the total. Table games followed with $47.4 million.
The state received $70.6 million in contributions from gaming operations, with the Education Trust Fund receiving the largest share—more than $50.9 million. That figure is up 1.1% from April 2024, showing stable support for Maryland’s public education initiatives.
Casino revenue in Maryland also supports horse racing, small businesses, and local communities. The six casinos—MGM National Harbor, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, Ocean Downs Casino, Hollywood Casino Perryville, and Rocky Gap Casino Resort—continue to provide a steady economic presence.
