Caesars Entertainment is reworking its long-standing Lake Tahoe presence with a major rebrand of Harveys Lake Tahoe. The resort will soon become Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, following a $160 million renovation that combines modern design with the area’s natural appeal. The project is already underway and will roll out in phases, with the official transition set for July 1, 2025.
Good to know
- Construction will pause during the peak summer season and resume later in the year.
- Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe is the second property under the Caesars Republic brand, following its 2024 launch in Scottsdale.
- Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, located across the street, is also receiving upgrades to align with the Caesars Republic revamp.
The resort makeover involves more than just a name change. Caesars aims to refresh the full 1.6 million-square-foot property, led by Marnell Companies. One major update is the 88,000-square-foot casino floor, which will be outfitted with modern lighting, new machines, a High Limit Room, and a dedicated World Series of Poker Room. Updated furnishings and high-tech screens will also be added.
As for guest stays, all rooms in the Remus Tower will be fully remodeled, while the Romulus Tower will receive select upgrades. Some suites will include butler service. Caesars is also giving the lobby a new identity with Cleo’s Coffee and Cocktails, which will shift from café to lounge depending on the time of day.
WOLF by Vanderpump and Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN will remain part of the resort’s food and entertainment options. Anthony Carano, President and COO of Caesars Entertainment, said the updates aim to deliver a “modern resort experience” while highlighting Tahoe’s landscape. “The property transformation has begun and will continue throughout 2026 with the all-new hotel tower, hotel lobby, stellar restaurants and the start of a completely reimagined casino coming online this summer for our guests to enjoy right away,” he said.
Meanwhile, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is receiving its own set of upgrades, including enhancements to its Summit Suites and the opening of Brew Brothers, a casual venue for craft beer and food. Both properties will also benefit from tech and infrastructure improvements.
Karie Hall, SVP and General Manager of Harrah’s and Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, described the goal as balancing history with modern comfort. “This transformation honors the storied history of Harveys while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences that will redefine luxury in Lake Tahoe,” she said.
Originally opened in 1944 as a simple café, Harveys has grown into Lake Tahoe’s largest casino. Now, its next phase under the Caesars Republic name looks to blend that history with a new, upgraded identity.
