Phase One of Tulalip Expansion Brings More Space and Amenities, Opening July

Tulalip Resort Casino is nearly ready to welcome guests to a major new addition. The first phase of its expansion will open in July, bringing over 70,000 square feet of fresh gaming space. More than 400 new slot machines and larger table-game areas will be part of the upgraded experience.

Once the new wing opens, the focus will turn to remodeling the interior of the existing casino. The plan includes new lighting, carpets, furnishings, and wall treatments. These updates will feature coastal tones, tribal artwork, and wood finishes that reflect the natural surroundings of Puget Sound and the Tulalip Tribes’ cultural identity.

The new section will also include “North Bar,” a full-service lounge connected to a landscaped outdoor plaza. Guests will find heated seating and a covered smoking space there. Two newly constructed entry points—one near the DraftKings Sportsbook and the other facing the Tulalip Amphitheatre and Premium Outlets—aim to improve visitor flow and upgrade the resort’s presence at street level.

Earlier in 2024, Tulalip Resort Casino redesigned its Hi-Limit Slots room and completed interior updates for the Blackfish Wild Salmon Grill and Journeys East. These upgrades were timed to prepare for the larger changes now taking place.

Additional improvements in the expansion include upgraded restrooms, an enhanced high-limit slot zone, and expanded back-of-house areas to support more guests. The project reflects both an investment in infrastructure and a commitment to honoring community traditions.

Marci Fryberg, President and COO of Tulalip Gaming Organization, explained the vision behind the work. “When we embarked on this project, our goal was to honor our people’s traditions while elevating the guest experience,” she said. “With phase one opening in July and phase two to follow, we’re bringing the Salish Sea’s spirit and our cultural heritage to life in a way our members and visitors will appreciate for years to come.”

Construction began in January 2024 and has moved quickly toward the summer launch. Once complete, the casino’s total gaming area will reach 270,250 square feet, providing one of the largest entertainment spaces in the region.
