The regulatory authority responsible for supervising all gambling activities on the island, the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC), has imposed stringent measures on two licensed businesses. The GSC declared on Wednesday that King Gaming Limited and Dalmine Limited’s licenses will be immediately revoked. The regulator’s determination to enforce stringent compliance within the iGaming industry is demonstrated by this decision.
The Gambling Supervision Act of 2010’s section 5(2), which gives the commission the ability to impose such restrictions, is in line with the GSC’s decision. This extreme action was brought about by the investigations into both corporations that began in the spring.
King Gaming’s License Suspended and Subsequently Canceled
King Gaming received its license from the GSC on June 13, 2017. However, an investigation into the company’s operations, which began on April 24, led to the suspension of its license. Despite growing in popularity and starting construction on a multi-million-dollar headquarters on the Isle of Man, King Gaming now faces uncertainty. The GSC’s statement confirms that “the Commission considers that it is in the public interest to issue this statement to advise stakeholders that further to section 13 of OGRA, the Commission canceled King Gaming Limited’s license on 24th July 2024. This decision has immediate effect.”
The cancellation puts King Gaming’s future on the Isle of Man in jeopardy, especially concerning its substantial investment in the new headquarters.
Following the action against King Gaming, the GSC also revoked Dalmine Limited’s license. The cancellation, effective immediately, follows the same regulatory framework as King Gaming’s case. The GSC has indicated that it will continue to work closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate both companies. However, specific details regarding the investigations remain undisclosed.
The regulator’s decision reflects its ongoing efforts to ensure that all licensed operators adhere to stringent standards of compliance and accountability. The GSC’s actions signal its unwavering stance on maintaining the integrity of the gambling industry on the Isle of Man.
