Seven years ago, Bryce Yockey predicted his success and won his first bracelet in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Championship. Today, at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, he outdid himself by winning Event #8: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha. This victory, against a field of 733 entrants, earned him his second WSOP bracelet and a career-best $606,654.
Yockey faced Farid Jattin in a tough heads-up match to claim the title. He became the third player from the 25KFantasy Draft to win a bracelet in this series. John Hennigan and Nick Guagenti also reached the top in the first week of the 2024 WSOP. Hennigan secured his seventh bracelet after winning the Event #7 $1,500 Dealer’s Choice. Guagenti, like Yockey, celebrated his second bracelet victory, this time in Limit Hold’em.
“There’s no feeling like it,” Yockey said. “Winning a WSOP tournament is a highlight in any poker career. I’ve worked really hard to get better at PLO, and it paid off today. I feel loved because many people came to support me.”
He added, “I’m going to win another one this year. When I saw myself get drafted for $13 in the fantasy draft, I thought, ‘Forget these guys. I’ll win two bracelets instead.’ I do a morning affirmation every day, telling myself I’ll win two, and I have one down so far.”
Last year, during the 2023 WSOP, Yockey already came close to his second bracelet in Event#33, $10,000 Razz Championship, where he finished 7th in the event won by Jerry Wong.
