Construction has started on Janu Al Marjan Island, a 132 room hotel and residential development beside the $5.1 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island resort in Ras Al Khaimah. The Aman Group brand plans to open the waterfront property in early 2029.

Second Wynn and Marjan Project Starts Construction
The new Janu development gives Wynn Resorts and Ras Al Khaimah master developer Marjan a second project on the reclaimed island.
Rather than adding another gaming resort, the partners have chosen a wellness and residential concept managed under Aman Group brand Janu. SCDA Architects designed the hotel, residences and waterfront facilities. Plans include apartments with one to five bedrooms, five private villas, dining venues, a gym, yoga facilities and a hammam.
No development cost accompanied the construction announcement.
Janu will sit next to Wynn Al Marjan Island, giving hotel guests and residents access to a wider tourism district built around hospitality, entertainment, beaches and private homes.
Max Tappeiner, president of Wynn Al Marjan Island, said: “Janu is an exciting addition to Al Marjan Island and a natural complement to what we’re creating at Wynn Al Marjan Island.”
He added: “Its distinctive approach to hospitality brings something new to the destination.
“As neighbouring developments, we expect a natural connection between our guests and residents that will create meaningful benefits for both properties.”
Al Marjan Island Builds Around Wynn Resort
Wynn Resorts holds a 40% equity interest in Wynn Al Marjan Island and will operate the integrated resort. The company received the first commercial gaming facility licence issued in the UAE. Its opening remains planned for 2027.
The neighbouring casino resort will include 1,500 rooms and suites, restaurants, retail, meeting facilities, entertainment and regulated gaming. Wynn has also secured additional land that company executives have linked to a possible second integrated resort.
Meanwhile, Wynn Al Marjan Island has opened a 15,000 square metre logistics centre ahead of resort operations. The facility combines inventory management, engineering workshops, security screening, uniform distribution and emergency response in one location.
The workshops will support carpentry, metalwork, upholstery and finishing work after the resort opens.
Janu adds a different customer group to the same destination. Aman Group positions the brand around social spaces, wellness and contemporary hospitality, while Wynn will provide the larger entertainment and gaming offer.
