Hard Rock Casino Tejon plans to add 406 hotel rooms and 900 slot machines through an expansion costing more than $725 million. The Tejon Indian Tribe and Hard Rock International began construction on October 21, targeting a summer 2028 opening.
Good To Know
The additional slots will bring the total to 3,000, increasing capacity by roughly 43% from the current 2,100 machines. The casino opened in November 2025 on Tejon Indian tribal land in Mettler, California, south of Bakersfield.
Meanwhile, the hotel and convention facilities will give the property more ways to attract overnight visitors and business events. Plans include flexible event space, three smaller meeting rooms, a reception area and an outdoor event lawn.
Guests will have king and double-queen room options alongside the suites. Two pools will offer cabanas and daybeds, while the Rock Spa will contain 13 treatment rooms.
Dining additions include Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, two outlets in The Marketplace and a new Center Bar.
Property President Mike Bean said:
“In less than a year, this property has established itself as a premier gaming and entertainment destination in California.”
Tejon Indian Tribe Chairman Octavio Escobedo III linked the investment to long-term employment and economic opportunities for the Tribe and surrounding communities. The partners expect the completed resort to employ more than 1,700 permanent staff.
The partners anticipate summer 2028 but have not announced an exact opening date. The existing casino opened in November 2025.
The hotel will offer 406 rooms, including 119 suites.
