Bloomberry Resorts cut its second quarter 2026 net loss to PHP345.3 million ($5.6 million) as stronger hold rates lifted casino revenue at Solaire Resort Entertainment City and Solaire Resort Quezon City. Group GGR reached PHP16.4 billion, up 15% year on year.
Good to Know
Bloomberry produced a much smaller loss despite continued weakness in VIP and premium mass demand. Net revenue climbed 11% to PHP14.1 billion, while cash operating expenses increased 5% to PHP10.7 billion.
Chairman and CEO Enrique Razon said:
“We delivered GGR growth in the second-quarter, supported by stronger hold rates across our gaming operations. However, underlying demand in the VIP and premium mass segments remained soft. Assertive cost management complemented higher revenues, driving EBITDA growth both sequentially and year-over-year.”
The numbers show how much hold helped the quarter. At Solaire Resort Entertainment City, VIP rolling chip volume increased 12%, but VIP GGR jumped 81% to PHP2.6 billion as the hold rate rose to 3.61% from 2.23%. EGM coin in fell 12%, yet EGM GGR still increased 6%.
Solaire Resort Quezon City also improved. GGR increased 9% to PHP4.9 billion and EBITDA rose 19% to PHP1.3 billion. VIP GGR more than doubled to PHP460 million, although mass table drop declined 23%.
Bloomberry therefore posted stronger casino revenue during a weak quarter for the wider Philippine gaming market. PAGCOR reported industry GGR of PHP88.13 billion in Q2, down 20.33% from a year earlier. Licensed casinos generated PHP45.37 billion and became the largest segment, while electronic gaming revenue fell to PHP39.85 billion.
Cost control remains another part of the Bloomberry strategy. First half cash operating expenses increased only 3% to PHP20.8 billion, while previous debt refinancing reduced first half interest expense by PHP409.5 million.
Digital gaming will now get more attention. Bloomberry launched FUNaloMAX commercially in July on its own platform and plans to migrate Solaire Online onto the same technology.
Razon said:
“Looking ahead, we remain focused on disciplined execution. Alongside continued cost optimization, we are advancing our digital strategy with the recent commercial launch of FUNaloMax on our proprietary platform which will be joined by Solaire Online on the same platform in the coming weeks.”
For the first half, Bloomberry reported PHP31.1 billion in GGR, unchanged year on year. EBITDA reached PHP6.4 billion, down 7%, while the group recorded a PHP470.3 million net loss compared with PHP1.9 billion in profit a year earlier.
