LuckyLand Slots Sets September Closure Date

LuckyLand Slots has already stopped Gold Coin purchases, with that option ending on August 3. VGW will disable gameplay on August 24 before shutting the platform completely on September 14.

Players cannot transfer coins from LuckyLand Slots to another VGW brand. Any remaining balances therefore need to be used or redeemed before the applicable deadlines.

The closure does not include LuckyLand Casino, the newer platform VGW launched separately from the older slots brand. VGW also continues to operate Chumba Casino and Global Poker. Its corporate website currently lists LuckyLand Slots and LuckyLand Casino as separate brands.

LuckyLand Slots launched in 2018 and used the sweepstakes casino model, combining Gold Coins with Sweeps Coins that eligible players could redeem for prizes. The platform had been available across 44 US states.

The shutdown comes during a period of management change at VGW. Founder Laurence Escalante resigned as CEO and Executive Chairman in 2026, while Mats Johnson took over leadership duties. VGW initially appointed Johnson as Acting CEO in February after Escalante went on leave.
