22-Year-Old Lucas Jumalon Wins 2026 WSOP Main Event and $10 Million

Lucas Jumalon has won the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event, defeating Lauri Saaskilahti heads-up at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. The 22-year-old player from Spokane collected $10 million and became the second-youngest champion in tournament history.

Hero Call Gives Jumalon Control

One hand changed the heads-up contest.

With 100 million chips already in the pot, the board read 4 A K J 6. Jumalon held the Q for the nut flush and bet 180 million on the river.

Saaskilahti held jack-high and made the hero call after a long decision. The call left him with only eight big blinds and gave Jumalon a commanding advantage.

Jumalon completed the win soon after. His king-six improved to three sixes in the final hand, beating ace-seven and ending the two-hour heads-up contest.

The result completed a wire-to-wire final-table performance. Jumalon began with 194 million chips, far ahead of the remaining eight players, and never surrendered the overall lead.

Jumalon Wins Fourth Largest Main Event

The $10,000 tournament attracted 9,208 entries and generated an $85.6 million prize pool. Only three WSOP Main Events have recorded larger fields.

Jumalon had started Day 1b with a difficult session and finished with only 7,400 chips, the second-smallest stack from that flight. He recovered to reach 146,000 on Day 2 and later took control before the final table.

At 22, Jumalon sits behind only Joe Cada on the age list for WSOP Main Event champions. Cada was 21 when he won in 2009.

“Youth is served at one of the most spirited final tables of all time,” said World Series of Poker Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart. “The 2026 Main Event and its live television coverage reminded us why we love this game and the people who play it.”

ESPN carried the final table after the WSOP Main Event returned to the network in 2026. The tournament also used a new 25,000-square-foot final-table arena at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

The final table paid a combined $29.5 million. Saaskilahti received $6 million, while Greg Mueller earned $3.75 million in third place.
