Cedar Crossing Casino Sets Early November Opening In Cedar Rapids

Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center will welcome guests in mid-November 2026, more than a month before the original December 31 target. The $275 million Cedar Rapids property will combine casino gaming, restaurants and year-round live events.

Entertainment Leads The Early Opening Plan

The Pork Tornadoes will start the concert calendar on November 25. Old Dominion will perform on December 5, followed by Steve-O on December 12 and the Eli Young Band on January 22, 2027.

Switchfoot, Parmalee, the Commodores, Carrot Top, the Marshall Tucker Band, James “Murr” Murray, Paul Wall and the Ying Yang Twins also appear on the opening schedule. The 1,500-seat event centre plans to host more than 100 shows each year, including comedy nights through Jocko’s Comedy Club.

Kim Pang, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center, said:

“Cedar Crossing is designed to be much more than a casino.”

The 160,000-square-foot property will also include the Clubhouse by Zach Johnson, other dining venues, an Arts and Cultural Center and a STEM lab. A shuttle will connect Cedar Crossing with hotels, downtown Cedar Rapids, Czech Village and the New Bohemia district.

Construction advanced faster than planned due to local labor, weather and early procurement work.

Stefan Huba, Chief Development Officer at Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, said:

Local Funding Extends Beyond Gaming

Cedar Crossing will give 8% of net adjusted gross revenue to the Linn County Gaming Association for nonprofit grants. Iowa requires casinos to contribute at least 3%, while the Cedar Rapids agreement could provide about $6.3 million per year.

A developer-funded study estimated $2.25 billion in statewide economic output over ten years. It projected $257 million during construction and $183 million during the first operating year.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved Cedar Crossing in February 2025 after rejecting earlier Cedar Rapids casino applications in 2014 and 2017.
