Sarah Fox will join the Gambling Commission executive team after four years leading gambling and lottery policy at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Good to Know
Fox joins on secondment from DCMS as the regulator completes the remaining gambling white paper reforms and begins measuring their effects. Her remit will also include player protection and returns to National Lottery Good Causes.
She previously oversaw the gambling white paper, society lotteries, horse racing policy and the fourth National Lottery licence transition. Allwyn took control of the licence in February 2024 after winning the competition.
Fox has spent more than 23 years in the Civil Service, including roles at the Home Office, Cabinet Office and Department of Health and Social Care.

Gardner said Fox will help complete white paper implementation, evaluate the reforms and protect National Lottery players.Fox said:
“The opportunity to cross over to the Commission and help the team continue making gambling safer, fairer and crime free is one I am really excited to take.”
The appointment follows several leadership changes at the regulator. Tim Miller will leave in September after ten years and take a role advising overseas governments and gambling authorities.
