DraftKings And Delta Launch Free SkyPicks Contests On US Flights

DraftKings and Delta Air Lines have launched SkyPicks, a free sports prediction contest available through Delta Sync WiFi on eligible US domestic flights. The game begins with MLB contests, while NFL matchups will follow later in 2026.

Good to Know

  • SkyPicks has no wagers, deposits, entry fees or financial risk.
  • Players must be SkyMiles members and at least 21 years old.
  • Contest leaders can receive Delta gift cards.

iGaming.org reported in June 2025 that Delta Air Lines was testing passenger interest in onboard sports betting. A customer survey asked whether travelers would consider placing wagers through the onboard WiFi service. Delta had announced a DraftKings partnership earlier that year, although neither company had confirmed a betting product at the time. SkyPicks now turns that earlier idea into a free contest rather than a real money sportsbook.

SkyPicks Keeps Real Money Betting Off Delta Flights

Passengers can open SkyPicks on a phone, tablet or laptop after connecting to Delta Sync WiFi. The product does not run through seatback screens and only allows new entries while a customer remains in flight.

Players sign in to DraftKings or create an account before answering questions tied to real sporting events. Prompts can cover game winners, first scorers, final scores or head to head player performances.

Correct picks raise each player on the contest leaderboard. Delta awards gift cards to leading performers in individual competitions and monthly rankings. No DraftKings deposit, betting balance, buy in or SkyMiles payment is required.

Entries remain available after landing through a link sent to the email address connected to the account. Players can review or edit their answers until the relevant contest closes.

DraftKings Chief Commercial Officer Jeremy Elbaum said:

“At DraftKings, we believe interaction with sports shouldn’t begin and end with the game itself – it should extend to every moment fans care about.”

He added:

“As we continue elevating the DraftKings Sports experience, we’re also exploring new ways to bring fans closer to the action beyond the traditional settings. Collaborating with Delta gives us the opportunity to reimagine what sports engagement can look like while traveling, bringing innovative ways for fans to stay connected to the games they love – even when they’re in the air.”

The free format also keeps SkyPicks separate from regulated sports wagering. Federal law prohibits gambling aboard commercial aircraft, an issue raised after Delta first disclosed plans to work with DraftKings in February 2025. SkyPicks avoids that restriction by removing stakes, deposits and financial loss.

Delta Chief Marketing and Product Officer Ranjan Goswami said:

“With Delta Sync, our goal is to create an onboard experience that offers something for every customer – one that’s connected to what customers love on the ground.

“For many of our customers, that includes sports. SkyPicks brings that passion onboard in a fun, free-to-play way, giving SkyMiles Members another way to engage with the games and conversations they love while they fly.”

Delta said sports ranks among the strongest content categories on its onboard platform. The airline serves more than 200 million passengers annually and operates as many as 5,500 daily flights across over 300 destinations.
