Police in Jeju have charged two casino dealers over an alleged marked card scheme involving three Chinese gamblers. Reported losses reached KRW100 million.

Players Left South Korea Unaware
The alleged fraud took place in June at the foreigner-only Gold Mountain Casino.
Local reports said three Chinese nationals had won a large amount before dealers allegedly used marked blackjack cards to recover money for the casino. The players later left South Korea without knowing they may have faced fraud.
Police initially estimated losses at KRW80 million. The figure later rose to KRW100 million, or about $67,684.
Investigators suspect the cards carried markings visible only through special contact lenses or glasses. Reports did not explain how the method affected individual blackjack hands.
Jeju police announced the charges on Monday. Neither suspect has been indicted, and both were released while officers continue the inquiry.
