FanDuel Goes Live in Alberta iGaming Market

FanDuel has launched its online casino and sportsbook in Alberta, giving players aged 18 and older access through one app from July 13. Alberta becomes the second Canadian province where FanDuel operates a regulated sportsbook and casino after Ontario.

FanDuel Adds Exclusive Casino Content

A new Light & Wonder agreement gives FanDuel customers early access to the full Huff N Puff slot range. The four-month Alberta exclusivity period forms a central part of the casino launch.

FanDuel also renewed its Canadian Football League partnership under a multi-year deal. The agreement now covers Alberta and adds online casino promotion alongside sports betting.

“Alberta represents an exciting new chapter for FanDuel Canada, and we’re thrilled to bring our industry-leading Casino and Sportsbook experience to players across the province,” FanDuel Canada General Manager Dale Hooper said.

“As we enter this new market, we’re committed to delivering a best-in-class entertainment experience and meaningful community engagement remains at the heart of everything we do.”

FanDuel paired the commercial launch with $50,000 for A Dollar A Day Foundation mental health programs and $30,000 for the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Management Program in Alberta.

The company also sponsored the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament. The 2026 event raised a record $260,000, while the tournament has generated more than $1.3 million for the Calgary Stampede Foundation over time.
