Plaza Las Vegas To Open High Limit Rooms Later This Summer

The Plaza Hotel & Casino is adding a new high limit gaming room later this summer, giving downtown Las Vegas another premium slot space as the property leans further into higher-end casino play.

A stronger slot business and rising demand from premium players helped drive the plan. Plaza also said longtime guests had been asking for a more private and comfortable area focused on slot play.

Good to Know

  • Plaza will open a new high limit gaming room on the main casino floor later this summer.
  • The space will include about 60 new machines plus electronic table games.
  • Guests will get premium services, including concierge help, drinks, and private cashout access.

Plaza Builds Out Premium Slot Play in Downtown Las Vegas

Instead of adding another standard casino section, Plaza is carving out a 2,000 sq ft high limit room built around a more private experience. The new area will run 24/7 and sit on the main casino floor, but the setup is clearly aimed at players looking for a quieter and more tailored gaming environment.

Around 60 state of the art machines will fill the room, along with a mix of electronic table games. Plaza is keeping the focus on slot play, which fits with the reason behind the project. Slot performance has been growing, and management says higher-end customers are playing a bigger part in that business.

Plaza Hotel & Casino CEO Jonathan Jossel tied the new room to broader changes at the property. He said:

“The Plaza continues to diversify its offerings to meet the changing needs of our guests. Adding a high-limit gaming room is just another amenity we want to provide so our guests know they have a variety of gaming options at the Plaza, including an exclusive, comfortable, and personalized area for slot play.”

Design will also play a big role in the room. Plaza said the space will mix classic Las Vegas style with more current finishes, using dark tones, gold Art Deco details, and plush furniture to create a more upscale feel. That keeps the room aligned with the property brand while giving premium players a clearer point of difference from the rest of the floor.

Service features go beyond the gaming product. Guests in the room will have access to a dedicated concierge desk that can handle restaurant bookings at Oscar’s Steakhouse, hotel room upgrades, and rooftop pool cabana reservations. Plaza will also offer 24 hour cocktail service, complimentary chilled beverages, and a private ATM and TITO redemption machine.

Another twist is flexibility. Plaza says the room can also convert into a private event space for catered gatherings, giving the property another way to use the venue beyond regular gaming hours. That adds a hospitality angle to a project that is mostly about premium casino traffic.
