Illinois commercial casinos brought in $183.1 million in March, giving the state another solid month to start 2026. The latest figures showed broad growth, with newer properties still adding lift while top venues kept their lead.
Good to Know
Slots did most of the work again, producing $140.7 million, up 6.6% from a year earlier. Table games rose even faster, climbing 9.1% to $42.4 million. March usually helps casino traffic anyway, with NCAA Tournament betting interest, travel, and seasonal traffic all helping bring people through the door.
At the top of the market, Rivers Casino Des Plaines stayed well ahead with $44.6 million in total revenue, including $28.6 million from slots and $16 million from table games. Wind Creek Chicago Southland followed at $22 million. Hard Rock Casino Rockford posted $13.4 million, while Grand Victoria Casino reached $13.2 million.
Hollywood Casino Joliet stood out the most. After shifting to a land based facility in August 2025, the property generated $12.4 million in March, up 56% year over year. Wind Creek Southland also kept building on its resort opening from April 2025 and rose 30.6%. Walkers Bluff added a 10.4% gain.
Not every casino joined the climb. Harrah’s Metropolis fell 11.8% to $4.8 million. Harrah’s Joliet dropped 8%, and Par A Dice Hotel Casino slipped 3.7%. Older properties have faced more pressure as newer and expanded venues keep pulling customers in a more crowded Illinois casino market.
Illinois has added capacity fast since the 2019 gambling expansion law opened the door for new casinos and property upgrades. March numbers show that those investments are still paying off. Illinois Gaming Board figures cover commercial casinos only and do not include sports betting or video gaming terminal revenue.
