A Powerball player in Arkansas won a massive jackpot using the Jackpocket lottery courier platform. The ticket, purchased through the app owned by DraftKings, matched all numbers in the Feb. 28 drawing and delivered a prize worth $250.8 million.
Good to Know
Jackpocket confirmed the historic prize on Wednesday and revealed an unusual detail about the winning player. The ticket that matched every number came from only the second purchase ever made by that customer through the app.
Pete Sullivan, SVP of Lottery at DraftKings, commented on the milestone in a company announcement saying:
“We’re thrilled for our customer in Arkansas and amazed that just their second order placed with Jackpocket resulted in a life-changing $250.8 million jackpot — setting a new Jackpocket record. This historic win underscores our commitment to delivering a best-in-class, secure, and seamless lottery experience for our customers.”
The jackpot ranks as the largest prize connected to a Jackpocket purchase since the platform launched. The company also noted that the win marks the 80th time a Jackpocket customer has collected at least $1 million through the courier service.
Lottery officials confirmed the ticket originated from Winners Corner, a gift shop and licensed Arkansas Scholarship Lottery retailer located in Little Rock. The result represents only the third time a Powerball jackpot has been won in Arkansas.
Sharon Strong, Executive Director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, welcomed the result in a public statement. She said:
“We couldn’t be more excited that another jackpot-winning Powerball ticket was sold in Arkansas. We’re always happy to see another player land a life-changing prize.”
The $250.8 million prize offers two payout choices. Winners can collect the full jackpot through annuity payments spread across 29 years, or they can select a lump sum payment estimated at $118 million.
Large lottery wins often generate attention toward digital ticket purchasing services. Courier platforms such as Jackpocket allow users to select lottery numbers through a mobile app rather than visiting a retail store.
After a user submits an order, a company representative travels to a licensed retailer, purchases the ticket on behalf of the customer, scans the ticket, and uploads the image into the user account. Players can then monitor results directly inside the app.
Demand for such services has increased as mobile gaming expands across the United States. The Jackpocket platform now operates in several states and continues to grow following its acquisition by DraftKings.
DraftKings purchased Jackpocket in May 2024 through a deal valued at $750 million. The acquisition added lottery courier services to the company portfolio, placing DraftKings across nearly every major vertical within the gambling industry.
Operations now span sports betting, online casino gaming, fantasy contests, prediction markets, and lottery ticket services, reflecting the growing convergence of digital gaming products in the United States.
