aesars Entertainment, in partnership with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, will open a new casino property in Chandler, Oklahoma, on April 9. The venue will operate under the Harrah’s Oklahoma name and represents the first casino in the state managed by Caesars.
Good to Know
Harrah’s Oklahoma will sit along historic Route 66 about 45 miles east of Oklahoma City, placing the casino within reach of two major population centers. Tulsa lies roughly an hour to the east, creating access to regional traffic while also placing the venue in a competitive tribal gaming corridor.
The gaming floor will combine traditional casino staples with food and beverage outlets designed to support longer visits. Multiple restaurants and bars are planned as part of the opening phase. Company representatives have not announced plans for a poker room.
Additional phases remain under consideration. Expansion could include an on site hotel along with added entertainment space, though no timeline has been confirmed.
In collaboration with the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, we officially announce that we will open our doors to @HarrahsOklahoma for the first time on April 9, 2026, bringing the first-ever Caesars-managed experience to the state of Oklahoma.

Oklahoma already supports one of the largest tribal gaming networks in the United States. The state has 143 casino properties operated by 35 tribal nations. Commercial casinos are largely absent, aside from limited racino style venues connected to horse tracks.
According to data from the American Gaming Association, gaming activity generates an estimated 12.2 billion dollars in annual economic impact and supports more than 89,000 jobs across the state. Revenue sharing agreements require tribal operators to contribute between 4 percent and 6 percent of gaming revenue to the state, depending on performance levels.
Total gross gaming revenue reached 347 billion dollars in 2024, producing nearly 210 million dollars in tax revenue. Allocation rules direct 12 percent of those funds to the General Revenue Fund, while 88 percent flows to the Education Reform Revolving Fund.
Despite the scale of land based gaming, Oklahoma has not authorized online casino play and has yet to legalize sports betting. Gov. Kevin Stitt and several lawmakers have pushed for sports wagering legislation in recent years, but a 2025 proposal failed to receive a legislative vote.
The Chandler development adds another tribal partnership to the Caesars portfolio, which already includes collaborations in North Carolina and California. Strategy reflects continued focus on tribal relationships as a path to growth outside traditional commercial jurisdictions.
Opening arrives during a mixed financial period for the company. Executives reported a 4.7 percent decline in 2025 gross gaming revenue at Las Vegas properties along with a 19.6 percent drop in net income. Leadership attributed performance to normal travel and leisure demand patterns rather than structural weakness.
Caesars Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Tom Reeg said:
“I think this is normal economic cycle activity in leisure for us. So, there’s really no crisis happening in Vegas. It’s normal cyclicality, and it will play itself out.”
