Threat Reported After Casino Losses

Security staff at Harrah’s Casino contacted law enforcement around 9:50 p.m. local time after receiving a call that included a direct bomb threat.

The caller allegedly said:

“Yeah, I just lost over $20,000 at your stupid casino, and I am going to destroy it now. I am going to bomb it. This is a bomb threat.”

Authorities later identified the suspect as Seth Maybee from South Lake Tahoe.

Arrest Made Within Hours

Officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department arrested Maybee at his residence around 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 6. The arrest came roughly four hours after the initial call.

Maybee now faces charges tied to making a bomb threat and terroristic threats. Authorities booked him into the El Dorado County Jail, where he remains while awaiting extradition to Douglas County for a court appearance.
