Construction crews are back on site at one of Las Vegas newest casino properties. A fresh buildout is now underway that pushes the resort footprint further north and adds a wide mix of gaming and entertainment options.
Good to Know
Durango Casino & Resort has started work on a third development phase valued at $385 million. The expansion will extend across the northern parking area and add roughly 275,000 square feet to the existing podium structure.
Developers expect construction to run for about 18 months. Management said guests should see little disruption, with casino, dining, and entertainment venues remaining accessible throughout the process.
Plans call for a larger casino floor with about 400 new slot machines. Once complete, the total slot count would rise from roughly 2,200 units.
The project also brings in several non-gaming attractions. Designs include a 36-lane bowling venue, movie theaters, new entertainment spaces, and a mix of restaurant concepts alongside food hall outlets.
The latest expansion follows a $120 million Phase II buildout that wrapped up just weeks earlier on the south side of the property.
That phase added more than 25,000 square feet of casino space, including a high-limit room with 120 machines, additional gaming areas with 130 slot machines, and a new parking garage to support higher traffic.
Barry Jonas, an analyst with Truist Securities, said the scale of the project supports longer-term growth targets.
He said:
“The larger $385 million 2.0 expansion should drive growth further. The 2.0 shouldn’t delay any other pipeline projects, with further details potentially revealed around the fourth quarter of 2026. Construction continues across Green Valley Resort and Sunset Station renovations (in Henderson), and while there will be some disruption in the first half of 2026, management continues to target a net ROI of 20%.”
Phase III adds about 275,000 square feet to the property podium.
No. Management said all amenities remain open.
About 400 additional machines are planned.
Construction is expected to take around 18 months.
