Henderson, Nevada, is finally getting a full-time poker room again. Station Casinos confirmed that Green Valley Ranch Resort will bring back live poker before the end of 2025, restoring a long-missed hub for local players.
Good to know
The poker room at Green Valley Ranch shut down in March 2020 during the COVID closures and never returned. In the years since, the space near the sportsbook had been converted into a smoke-free slot area.
Locals had been vocal about wanting poker back, and Station Casinos finally responded. The company revealed that guest demand played a major role in the decision to bring the card room back as part of the resort’s broader renovations.
When the new poker room opens in late 2025, it will nearly double in size compared to its pre-pandemic layout, expanding to 16 tables. Importantly, it will also be the only room in Henderson operating around the clock.
Skyline Casino does offer poker nearby, but only on a very limited basis with two tables and shorter hours. Green Valley Ranch will stand apart as the go-to spot for both casual players and regulars in the city’s largest suburb.
Games are expected to mirror the low-stakes action that once made the room popular among locals, providing a comfortable alternative to driving into Las Vegas.
Las Vegas poker has grown steadily since casinos reopened in 2020, though not every room survived. Properties such as Harrah’s, The Strat, and Mirage all saw their poker rooms permanently closed.
With Green Valley Ranch reopening, Henderson players will once again have a dedicated venue without needing to head to the Strip. Once it opens, there will be 21 poker rooms in operation across the Las Vegas area.
Green Valley Ranch will join Station Casinos’ other poker rooms at Boulder Station and Red Rock Resort. Each caters primarily to locals in different parts of the valley—eastside players at Boulder Station, Summerlin residents at Red Rock, and soon, Henderson players at GVR.
