Bally’s Corporation has laid out official plans for a massive integrated casino resort on the historic Tropicana site on the Las Vegas Strip. After months of speculation following the property’s demolition in October 2024, the company has now filed entitlements with Clark County and shared details of what is to come.
Good to Know
The Tropicana was once one of the Strip’s most famous landmarks, but its closure in 2023 and demolition in 2024 cleared the way for Bally’s long-awaited vision. The company first gained approval to buy the property from Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) back in 2022 for $308 million. While that purchase created excitement, it also triggered concerns when staff faced job losses as operations wound down.
Now Bally’s plans are moving forward at full pace. The resort design calls for two hotel towers, an expansive casino, and a performance venue capable of hosting 2,500 guests. The addition of a professional baseball stadium positions the project as more than a casino—it is a destination designed to blend sports, entertainment, dining, and luxury hospitality in one location.
Bally’s Corporation Chairman Soo Kim described the vision with high expectations:
“Bally’s Las Vegas represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine the heart of the Strip. With world-class partners like JLL and Marnell, and with the arrival of Major League Baseball, we are not just building an integrated resort. We are creating a landmark destination that unites sports, entertainment, dining and hospitality on a scale only Las Vegas can deliver.”
