Good to Know
Figures released by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission show that Boot Hill, Kansas Star, Hollywood, and Kansas Crossing casinos combined for $37.3m in lottery gaming facility revenue last month. The report highlights a steady year-over-year increase at three of the four properties.
Boot Hill Casino & Resort posted $4.1m in August, slightly below last year’s results. Slots generated $3.7m while table games added $456,506. The state collected $990,000, with local jurisdictions receiving $123,852 and $82,568 directed to problem gambling funds.
Kansas Star Casino & Resort recorded $14.6m, an increase from $14.1m in August 2024. Slots produced $12.9m and tables $1.7m. The state received $3.22m, while $439,078 went to local governments and $292,719 supported problem gambling programs.
Hollywood Casino & Resort continued to lead the Kansas market, reporting $15.1m in total revenue compared with $14.5m a year earlier. Machines delivered $13.4m and table games $1.6m. State allocations reached $3.3m, while local governments received $452,124 and problem gambling initiatives $301,416.
Kansas Crossing Casino & Resort earned $3.5m in August, rising from $3.2m last year. Slot play generated $3.2m, with table games contributing $258,449. The state share totaled $770,462, alongside $105,063 for local jurisdictions and $70,042 for problem gambling funds.
The August report underscores the continued dominance of electronic gaming machines across Kansas casinos. Slots accounted for more than 85% of total revenue statewide, leaving table games as a much smaller but still important contributor.
