DigiPlus Explores Casino Acquisition in the Philippines

DigiPlus Interactive Corp, one of the most visible gaming operators in the Philippines, is considering a shift that goes beyond its online roots. The company, known for digital platforms like BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, is now exploring the possibility of buying a brick-and-mortar casino in the country.

Good to Know

  • DigiPlus reported PHP8.40 billion in net income in H1 2025, a 60.9% jump year on year.
  • The operator is expanding internationally, with services launching in Brazil and plans to enter South Africa.
  • PAGCOR has been approving new games and licences, fueling DigiPlus’ growth momentum.

Industry chatter suggests DigiPlus already identified a target property, but negotiations have slowed down in recent months. According to reporting by the Manila Standard, a source familiar with the talks said the firm’s objective is to balance its fast-growing online side with a stable land-based presence. That goal makes sense given the evolving regulatory climate around iGaming in the Philippines.

Interestingly, DigiPlus had been linked last year to CasinoPlus, a licensed online operator that also holds rights to the Hotel Stotsenberg and Casino in Clark, Pampanga, north of Manila. At the time, DigiPlus publicly stated it had “no definitive plans” to move forward with the deal.

The interest in land-based gaming comes as the group posts strong numbers. Revenues for the first half of 2025 climbed 46.7% compared with the same period last year, reaching nearly PHP47.78 billion. The company credited its performance to a mix of higher engagement and fresh products approved by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR).

Beyond the domestic market, DigiPlus has made international growth a priority. In July, the operator confirmed it was on track to roll out online gaming in Brazil by September. South Africa is also on its radar, a move that would put its brands in another rapidly expanding market.

By blending digital offerings with a potential land-based property, DigiPlus appears to be setting up a more balanced portfolio. The company has not commented directly on the stalled negotiations, but analysts suggest owning a casino could help the brand weather any online regulatory shifts while strengthening its local identity.

For players, that might mean more cross-channel experiences between digital products and physical venues in the Philippines—something many global operators have been leaning toward.
