The Ola Poker Tour is getting ready to make history in Asia. After a lively debut earlier this year in Europe, the tour now heads east, with Taipei, Taiwan set to host the action this December. The event promises competitive poker, strong prize pools, and the community vibe that OLA has quickly become known for.
Good to know
Poker players across the region have been waiting for more international tours to include Asia in their schedules, and the arrival of OLA fills that gap. By joining forces with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club (CTP), the tour ensures that local players and international travelers alike will get the best possible experience.
The headline tournament is designed to balance excitement with player-friendly value. The buy-in is set at TWD $22,000 (~USD $720) with a TWD $10M guarantee. Day 1 flights play down until only 15% of the field remains. Everyone reaching Day 2 is already in the money, with a minimum payout of TWD $40,000. That’s double the entry fee, which adds an extra layer of comfort for players taking their shot.
The series doesn’t stop with the Main Event. A full festival schedule is in place, with formats for every style of player. Highlights include:
The Ola Poker Tour officially launched in June 2025 at King’s Casino Rozvadov, Europe’s largest live poker resort. The motto, “Where Smiles Are Rewarded”, reflects its mission: poker should be competitive but also enjoyable.
At the launch festival, Germany’s Alexander Metz dominated the Main Event, knocking out seven players on his way to the trophy and €72,800. The team format also brought added fun, with Team BPS (British Poker Series) securing the leaderboard title thanks to standout performances from Luke Tatum and Aytan Eldarova.
What Players Can Expect in Taipei
Taipei’s Asia Poker Arena is one of the region’s premier poker venues, giving players the right atmosphere for a global series. The partnership with CTP ensures smooth organization and local support, while OLA’s international crew brings their festival spirit.
“Wherever OLA goes, the goal is to create memorable experiences,” said the organizing team. “Players compete for big prizes, but they also share laughter and community moments.”
Poker in Asia has been growing rapidly in recent years, with Taiwan standing out as a hub for tournaments. In August, a new Poker Tour founded by two industry veterans was announced. Gods of Poker, as it is called, already has three stops lined up: Eden Awakens from December 5–14, 2025 at Landing Casino in Jeju, South Korea; The Titan Assembly from January 8–18, 2026 at CTP Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, Taiwan; and The Coiled Path from March 26–April 5, 2026 at NagaWorld in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
