asino floors across Illinois saw a strong month in August, according to the latest figures from the Illinois Gaming Board. Statewide adjusted gross revenue (AGR) reached $174 million, marking a 24.3% year-over-year jump. Much of that lift came from the arrival of Wind Creek Chicago Southland and the continuing growth of Fairmount Park’s expansion.
Good to Know
Rivers Casino Des Plaines once again topped the charts with $41.9 million in revenue, more than double any other property in the state. Even so, the property’s total dipped 3.7% compared to August 2024.
Hard Rock Casino Rockford, which upgraded to a permanent facility in August 2024, delivered the sharpest year-over-year rise. Its $13 million AGR reflected a 129.5% increase from the prior year.
Wind Creek Chicago Southland reported $17.1 million, while Grand Victoria Casino ($12.6m) and Bally’s Chicago ($11.3m) also logged healthy gains of 5.6% and 5.1%, respectively.
Full House Resorts contributed $10.9 million, up 18.4% from the year before, while Harrah’s Joliet Casino held steady at about $11 million.
Hollywood Casino Juliet stood out with a 46.7% jump to $11.2 million, contrasting with Hollywood Casino Aurora’s more modest $9.4 million result, up 4.8%. DraftKings at Casino Queen reported $7.3 million, essentially flat with a slight 0.9% increase.
The Gaming Board’s report showed that electronic gaming devices (EGDs) carried most of the revenue weight. EGDs generated $137 million, a 28.3% increase from the previous year, highlighting their dominance in the state’s casino mix.
Table games also grew but at a slower pace, producing $37 million statewide for August, up 11.4% from last year.
Rivers Casino again led the way in both categories, pulling in $13.5 million from table games and $28.3 million from EGDs. By comparison, Bally’s Chicago ($4.1m) and Wind Creek Chicago Southland ($3.7m) were the next-closest properties for table game revenue.
