Macau Casinos Report 12 Percent Growth in August GGR

Macau’s casinos saw gross gaming revenue climb 12.2% year-on-year in August, reaching MOP22.16 billion (US$2.76 billion), according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

It was the strongest monthly result since January 2020, just before the pandemic disrupted operations. The August figure also edged slightly higher than July’s MOP22.13 billion.

Cumulative GGR for the first eight months of 2025 now stands at about MOP163.05 billion, up 7.2% from the same period in 2024.

Analysts at Citigroup had predicted strong momentum in mid-July, noting improvements across both VIP and mass-market segments.
