Poker in Asia has never looked stronger. From Manila to Macau and Seoul to Taipei, live tournaments keep drawing bigger crowds, and players are hungry for more. Now, two familiar faces are stepping in with a brand-new tour that promises to shake things up. Say hello to Gods of Poker (GOP).
Good to know
Gods of Poker isn’t just another tour popping up. It’s driven by two people who know exactly what makes poker tick in Asia. Lloyd Fontillas takes on the role of General Manager and Executive Tournament Director, while Ray Chiu serves as CEO. Between them, they bring years of experience running the Asian Poker Tour and turning it into one of the region’s most trusted brands.
As Fontillas put it:
“If you love good poker, great people, and the feeling that you’re part of something — this is the tour you’ve been waiting for.”
Plenty of poker tours offer big prize pools, but GOP is carving out its own space by focusing on balance, community, and player comfort. That starts with the Cronus Structure — a system designed to cut out endless late reg periods and shallow stacks. Registration closes after two levels, saving hours per event while still giving new entrants playable stacks.
Events also begin after lunch, leaving players time to enjoy the cities they’re visiting instead of grinding from morning to midnight. In short, it feels less like a job and more like a full poker-plus-holiday experience.
Unlike most new tours that launch cautiously, GOP is jumping straight in with three stops lined up:
Each festival comes with strong backing from partners like CTP, JPPS, HKPPA, DK Poker Tour Booking, and iPoker, which is also offering online satellites. That means players worldwide can secure their seats without breaking the bank.
Beyond structures and scheduling, GOP wants players to feel part of a family. The same tournament team that helped build some of Asia’s largest festivals will be there from day one, making sure operations run smoothly. From deep-stack grinders to casual players looking for fun, the atmosphere promises to be welcoming.
As Gods of Poker CEO Ray Chiu said:
“Our goal is simple — to create the most loved and fun-filled event for the world to experience.”
After the first three festivals, GOP already has plans for more stops across Taiwan, Korea, and the Philippines in 2026. With iPoker satellites feeding into the live events, and even a potential online series down the line, the tour looks set to become a long-term fixture in Asia’s poker calendar.
At iGaming.org, we’re excited to watch Gods of Poker hit the ground running. The cards are nearly in the air — and we can’t wait for the first hand to be dealt.
