The $43.9 billion figure marks another high point for Indian gaming, with operations spanning 29 states. The report aggregates revenue from casinos and gaming facilities that serve as major economic engines for their respective communities.
Acting Chairwoman Sharon Avery praised the industry’s resilience and commitment to tribal economic development. “This year’s GGR reflects not only the resilience of the tribal gaming industry, but also the dedication of tribal leadership in preserving and growing this important economic driver for their communities,” she said. Avery added that strong governance and effective regulation continue to protect the industry’s integrity.
Among the NIGC’s regions, Oklahoma City and Washington D.C. posted the fastest growth, with double-digit revenue increases from the prior year. These results highlight how tribal gaming has expanded its economic footprint in areas where operations continue to scale.
Vice Chair Jeannie Hovland emphasized the broader benefits these revenues bring to tribal communities. “These revenue numbers demonstrate the positive impacts of tribal gaming and the essential role it plays supporting tribal sovereignty, job growth, infrastructure, education, and important social, health, and welfare programs in tribal communities – just to name a few,” she said.
The NIGC reaffirmed its commitment to working with tribal governments and regulators to ensure the industry remains strong. Hovland noted that maintaining integrity and compliance is critical for long-term success and for continuing to support tribal programs and initiatives that rely on gaming revenue.
