The Oregon Lottery has been recognized nationally for its dedication to responsible gaming, taking home four major honors from the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) at the group’s annual conference.
Good to know
Among the four awards, the Oregon Lottery earned the Corporate Social Responsibility Award for its comprehensive responsible gaming program. It also won the Corporate Public Awareness Award for its “Safer Play” PSA campaign, which highlighted ways players can gamble responsibly.
The Lottery’s outreach efforts in multicultural communities were recognized as well, earning the Corporate Multicultural Communications Award. On top of that, Senior Manager for Product Marketing Stacy Shaw received the Don Feeney Award for Responsible Gambling Excellence, an individual honor celebrating her contributions to the field.
“These awards reflect how deeply safer play is woven into everything we do,” said Oregon Lottery Director Mike Wells. “It’s a shared commitment for the entire agency.”
Shaw noted the Lottery’s increased efforts over the past year. “We have invested in our Safer Play Program to conduct research, offer marketing outreach, and provide resources that let us reach more people on their help-seeking journey,” she explained.
The Oregon Lottery has long been a national leader in responsible gaming. By dedicating one percent of its profits to treatment and prevention efforts, it has contributed more than $148 million to problem gambling services since 1992.
