ReadyBet Warned After Messaging Self-Excluded Gamblers

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has ordered ReadyBet to fix its marketing practices after the company contacted users who had self-excluded via BetStop, Australia’s national gambling block list.

An investigation found ReadyBet sent 273 messages to individuals on the list and failed to include BetStop info in over 2,300 push notifications. Now, the company must undergo an independent review, improve staff training, and overhaul its marketing systems.

If ReadyBet fails to comply, ACMA may pursue civil penalties.
