Nick Schulman Joins Poker Hall of Fame in First Year Eligible

Nick Schulma has built a career that stretches across every corner of poker—from the felt to the booth. In 2025, the 40-year-old added another milestone to that journey: a place in the Poker Hall of Fame.

Good to know

  • Schulman won his first WSOP bracelet in 2009 and added his seventh in 2025.
  • He became the youngest-ever WPT champion at age 21.
  • He also works as a respected commentator on PokerGO broadcasts.

Schulman got his start in the poker spotlight in 2005 when he won the World Poker Tour World Poker Finals at Foxwoods. That win earned him over $2.1 million and made him the youngest winner in WPT history at the time. Since then, he has steadily built a resume filled with tournament wins, high-stakes cash game appearances, and top-tier poker commentary.

The WSOP made it official during a short break on Day 6 of the 2025 Main Event—Schulman was named the only inductee into the Poker Hall of Fame this year. The ceremony gave him a moment to reflect on the path that got him there.

“I felt like a cash game player away from all of this,” Schulman said in an interview with Natalie Bode from PokerGO. “And to have come full circle with the commentating, and then to be recognized for something [like this] is pretty surreal.”

He is no stranger to WSOP gold. Schulman first captured a bracelet in 2009, winning a $10,000 no-limit deuce-to-seven tournament. He repeated that win in 2012, and again in 2025. He also picked up wins in pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better, seven-card stud, and turbo bounty events. His largest career score came from a $25,000 high roller, where he walked away with nearly $1.67 million.

His presence at the table is matched by his reputation in the broadcast booth. Over the years, he became one of the most trusted voices in poker commentary, often working alongside Ali Nejad during PokerGO’s WSOP broadcasts. His mix of insight and dry humor has made him a favorite among fans and players alike.

Schulman’s Hall of Fame nod came ahead of nine other finalists, including names like Phil Galfond, Kathy Liebert, and Mike Matusow. The Poker Hall of Fame rules allow for up to two inductees each year, but only Schulman made the cut in 2025—further highlighting his standing among his peers.

“I’ve just been around so many great players, and I’ve just kind of seen them all,” Schulman said. “It’s my favorite game to play. And I think anytime you’re doing something that you’re really enjoying, it’s, you know, it’s good.”

Between his tournament wins, consistent cash game performances in places like Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio, and his growing media presence, Schulman has quietly built a poker career that few can match—and now it comes with a Hall of Fame plaque.
