19 Gambling Websites Told to Stop Serving Michigan Players

Michigan regulators are cracking down harder than ever on unlicensed online casinos. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) just launched its biggest enforcement action so far, targeting nearly 20 websites that have been operating without approval in the state.

Good to know

  • MGCB sent cease-and-desist letters to 19 online gambling sites.
  • Operators have 14 days to shut down or face legal action.
  • Unlicensed sites could deny payouts or offer unfair games.

GoldWin Casino, Bingo Village, and Diamond Reels Online Casino are just a few of the names called out for offering games to Michigan residents without any license. That violates both the Lawful Internet Gaming Act and the Lawful Sports Betting Act, two key laws that regulate online gambling in the state.

Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB, made it clear that the state is not going to stand by while illegal platforms put players at risk. He said:

“Illegal gambling operators threaten the safety of our citizens and the integrity of our gaming industry. When companies offer games without proper licensing, Michigan players are left without the critical protections they deserve. That’s unacceptable, and we’re taking strong action to stop it.”

The Board warned that these unauthorized platforms come with serious risks. Players could lose their money without any payout, face unfair or manipulated games, and have no official way to resolve disputes. Without state oversight, there is simply no guarantee of safety or fairness.

Williams added:

“These platforms operate in the shadows. They’re not just skirting the rules—they’re exposing players to serious harm. Our job is to stop them, and we take that responsibility seriously.”

Thelast time  MGCB issued notices was back on June 13. The five letters then were aimed at sites that were allowing bets on slots, blackjack, sports, and more — all without meeting Michigan’s legal requirements. The new round expands that effort.
