June 24 turned into one of the busiest days at the 2025 World Series of Poker, with three bracelets awarded and two new winners making headlines. Moshe Gavrieli took down Event #60: $3,000 Limit Hold’em, while Craig Savage outlasted a massive field in Event #61: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout. Both players earned their first WSOP titles and six-figure paydays in very different types of tournaments.
Good to know
Moshe Gavrieli, a house painter from Oakland, California, worked his way through a field of 343 players in Event #60: $3,000 Limit Hold’em to win $200,303 and his first gold bracelet. The tournament included a number of well-known players, with former bracelet winners like Roland Israelashvili, Juha Helppi, and Dan Idema making deep runs.
As the final table played down, Gavrieli eliminated Nicholas Tsoukalas in fourth place after a big hand with pocket aces. He entered heads-up play against Scott Bohlman, who has been one of the top performers of the summer. Gavrieli controlled the match from the start and finished it off by hitting a flush on the turn in the final hand.
After the win, Gavrieli said, “Poker is my hobby, my sport, my competition. I just wanted to prove something and now I did. This means everything.”
Meanwhile, Craig Savage powered through one of the largest events of the series in Event #61: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout, which drew 5,082 entries and built a prize pool of more than $2.1 million. The player from Plano, Texas, collected $229,628 for the win—his biggest score to date.
The final table included Arthur Morris, a veteran with over $3.5 million in earnings, and a group of less experienced players aiming for their first deep WSOP run. Savage found himself short at times but picked up key double-ups, including a hand where his king-jack beat Morris’ ace-king. Another critical hand saw Savage win with ace-six against pocket fours to take control.
In the final hand, Savage held pocket queens and sealed the win against Tony Harrison’s ace-king after a safe board runout.
