Casino and iGaming Drive Strong May for New Jersey Operators

New Jersey’s gaming sector saw a strong boost in May 2025, with total revenue reaching $614.7 million—an increase of 20.5% compared to the same month last year. The rise was supported by consistent growth across casino operations, online gaming, and sports wagering.

Traditional casino gaming remains a strong revenue driver in the state. Casino win across properties grew 10.9% to $265.3 million. Slot machines brought in $194.8 million, marking a 7.5% increase, while table games saw stronger growth—up 21.9% year-over-year with $70.5 million.

Borgata Atlantic City led the property rankings with $51.1 million in casino win, up 14.3% from May 2024. Hard Rock and Ocean Casino also cleared the $30 million mark, with revenues of $36.5 million and $30.2 million, respectively. Bally’s and Golden Nugget, however, saw declines in their casino win, down 16.1% and 0.8%.

iGaming platforms post solid growth

Online gaming continues to rise, with iGaming revenue totaling $246.8 million in May 2025, up 28.5% year-over-year. FanDuel led the category with $54.4 million, a jump of 36.1%. DraftKings followed with $48.1 million, while BetMGM posted $32.5 million, a 42.7% increase. Borgata also gained $20.8 million from its iGaming division, rising 15.1%.

May’s sports betting handle surpassed $1 billion, with $967.1 million coming from online platforms. Total revenue from sports wagering hit $102.5 million, up 30.2% year-over-year.

FanDuel led with $44.3 million in sports betting revenue, an increase of 20.8%. DraftKings followed closely with $28.3 million, up 28.1%. BetFanatics, though still smaller in scale, saw a major increase of 206.8% year-over-year with $6.2 million.

In total, New Jersey residents have wagered nearly $5.3 billion so far in 2025, with over $5 billion of that placed online
