Allan Le added a second WSOP bracelet to his name, but it came in a way he never expected—by entering a game he had never played on its own. After getting knocked out of the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event, he jumped into Event #43: $1,500 Razz. Three days later, he walked away with $126,363 and the title.
Good to know
Le had not planned on playing Razz that day. “I only entered it because I busted out of the $1,000 PLO for three bullets,” Le explained. That decision set him on a run through 472 entries and a field stacked with experienced mixed-game players. He had played Razz only as part of mixed formats like dealer’s choice or 8-game.
Despite that, he found a rhythm quickly. Entering the final day with the chip lead, Le stayed in control even as accomplished players like Shaun Deeb and Maxx Coleman made moves.
The final table featured familiar faces, including Maxx Coleman, who previously won a WSOP bracelet in 2022. Le knocked out Gabriel Ramos in seventh, then watched Jason Lipiner and Jeanne David exit shortly after.
Clint Wolcyn briefly held the chip lead during four-handed play but quickly slid to the short stack and was eliminated by Le after a key hand where Le improved from a 10-9 low to a 9-7 low. Wolcyn’s draw could not catch up.
Deeb took the early lead heads-up but lost momentum fast. Le flipped the match within 30 minutes, turning a small deficit into a commanding chip lead. One of the final major pots saw Deeb’s board show three sevens, while Le made a queen-nine low that held up. On the last hand, Le closed it out by completing a seven-six low.
Le’s first bracelet came in 2016 in a mixed Omaha eight-or-better event. Since then, he has made several deep runs and won a $5,300 PLO PokerGO Tour event in 2024. This Razz title marks a return to WSOP success almost a decade after his initial victory.
“My first bracelet was so long ago I forgot who was at the final table,” Le joked. That earlier win required him to outlast players like Gavin Smith, Yuval Bronshtein, and David Bach. Now, he adds a win over Shaun Deeb to that resume.
